Some of you, my dear readers, have been on this writing journey with me from the very start…right back at Zahra and Jayce’s story!
But, how well do you think you really know me?
Let’s get personal…
Q: Who is my hero?
A: Both of my grandmothers (both now passed) are still my heroes. They were incredibly strong, hard-working women who took care of their families and never let life’s challenges take them down. Every day they fought for a better life and I have so many questions now that I wish I’d asked them, but I’m grateful for the time we had together.
Q: If I could live anywhere, where would it be?
A: I have such mixed emotions about this answer. Part of me would say Paris or somewhere in Europe. The other part would say on a secluded beach in an Airstream or a tiny house…does anyone else watch that show?? I love it. There’s something beautiful about stripping away all attachment to stuff…and living a simple life. Clearly, I am two extremes with no middle ground!
Q: Favourite vacation spot?
A: Italy/Europe. Amazing food, history/culture, and breathtaking scenery.
Q: What would I change about myself if I could?
A: I’d respond to text messages! I’m terrible at this…I usually look at a message when it flashes up on my phone and if it’s not urgent, I tell myself I’ll respond later but then I forget. It’s an unintentionally rude habit and I’m working on it!
Q: What motivates me to work hard?
A: While my family had everything we needed growing up, only now do I really understand how much my parents sacrificed to provide an amazing life and education for us kids (I have two brothers, one older and one younger…I’m the middle child which perhaps explains a lot!). I want to make my parents proud and to make their sacrifices worthwhile. I’m also terribly afraid of mediocrity. I’m afraid of looking back on my life and realising I wasted opportunities—that I didn’t use everything God gave me. I want to squeeze out every drop of this lemon called life.
Q: What was the last movie I went to?
A: The Batman. And I loooved it! Interestingly, I don’t like romance books or novels unless they are loaded with thriller elements…hence why I write the kind of books I do and love movies like John Wick.
Q: What did I want to be when I was small?
A: For a while I wanted to be a pilot…until I realised I’m afraid of flying (even to this day, which is ironic given how much travel I did in the past five years pre covid).
Q: If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life, what would it be?
A: Sweet potato fries and champagne! Haha. Perhaps I’d throw in a green salad for some nutrition!
Q: What is my favourite book I’ve written?
A: Maybe I’m biased because it is my latest release, but I feel like I took my writing to another level in LANA.
In terms of plot twists, SORIN will always be one of my favourites.
